From what I gather from the official Matrox drivers site, there is no need to install any Display drivers on WinXP. My question is: Do I still get the Dual Head display which I would like to use for watching movies, in full screen on a TV using video out ?

Hello Brian, I just did and I couldn't see the tab where it shows the DualHead option. So I guess it would be part of the tools software. If I remember correctly there has been a third party mod version of the tools for WinXP by Adis. I'm not interested in the capture driver.Last edited by Debbie; 14 March 2011, 01:26.We pass this way only once. Make the most of it !

Thank you very much Adis.
It has been a very, very long time since I used The Marvel G400-TV card.
I'm mostly interested in PowerDesk v5.92.006+ for DualHead. It appears to be working fine on WinXP 32 bit. SP3
There is one thing I would like to ask you, please. Whenever I switch to DualHead DVDMax the Colour quality drops to Medium (16 bit). Is this normal ? The picture is just an example.
PS.
OK I found the answer from the ReadMe file on the installation CD.
Cause Your display settings may be too high. As a result, DVD video
playback may not be fully supported by Matrox hardware.
Solution Lower your display resolution and color palette setting. We
recommend you use a display resolution of 1024 x 768 and a 16-bit
color palette.Attached FilesLast edited by Debbie; 14 March 2011, 23:31.We pass this way only once. Make the most of it !

@Elie
No, . It's just for the fun of it. I dug it out of the garage and wondered if It still works.
Anyways I managed to assemble a dinosaur from old hardware but it's working fine !

Elie,
I'm still stuck with P4s and WinXP. I have two machines both with All-In-Wonder capture cards, which have to be used on a WinXP OS since there are no available drivers for a more recent OS.
I also like the feel of WinXP and see no reason for scraping away two perfectly working capture cards. We pass this way only once. Make the most of it !

It is not my intention to do publicity. For those that are still on a PC with a PCI BOBO and want to capture video with a low cost PCI capture card, should consider the Compro C500, VideoMate. I bought a couple and I truly didn't regret it.
