What are you all using as editing software and hardware?

It's been a very long time since we used to discuss video editing in general.
What are you all using these days? or have you moved on

Good topic. I had to edit some video for work and I used Premiere but I'm looking for input on what is best these days as:
Best free option
Best commercial option

I use Sony Vegas these days. Used to use Media Studio Pro in the analog and mini DV days.

I am using the Adobe CS6 suite which includes Premiere Pro 6.0 and Encore, I haven't subscribed to the Creative Cloud just yet. Don't like renting software.
I also continue to use the Matrox MXO-2 Max which works perfectly. No need to edit 4K content just yet.
