Is there such a thing as a hack to overcome the limit of 5 changes to the region selected and also the Macrovision protection.

There are some generic regionhack utilities out there on the net which work with software players. Try searching for "dvdregion", which is one of them (I'm told).

There are also macrovision hacks for some versions of matrox videotools. There's a URL in my links section which might help out.
