Fade To/From Black in MSP5.2

I want to use a fade effect - to and from black, and also simple fade transitions between scenes. Is this possible using Media Studio Pro 5.2? I know something as simple as this should be, but I just can't figure out how to do it. I'm not interested in the array of fancy transitions available in the production library.

Any suggestions would be most welcome

There is a really simply fade to black option in the FX production library that you insert into the FX clip line. To hold the black simply create a black color clip into Va or Vb.

You don't need the black color clip. Just set the default background color of MSP to black. It won't show on the display but it will render the background black.

Problem sorted. I looked through the Production Library three times without spotting the cross-fade option!
