2-3 sec delay when Scrubbing in MSVE 5.2

When I scrub a MJPEG compressed avi file in MSVE 5.2 it takes about 2-3
seconds before the image shows up in the preview window and the scrubbinng
starts.
Is there a way to fix this annoying problem.

System:
WIN98
PII 266 Mhz
295 RAM
4,2 Gb SCSI harddrive
6,5 Gb Ide Harddrive
Matrox G400 Max DH 32 Mb

I'd bet the only real solution is to get an Athlon 850MHz <g>.

Yeah, this is one of the oldest moans in the cupboard. I think the Tips&Tricks section has a few ideas you can try, but the easiest is to open up a scratchpad. This holds the codec open, so no more delays when scrubbing
