  • TV-Output on 60 Hz

    Hello.

    I love DVD!
    I love Anime!
    I have a Creative Dxr2!
I have a RR Studio and a Marvel G200 (in 2 separate computers of course )
    Anime are mostly in NTSC!
    I'm in Germany!
    Germany is PAL-Land!

So, converting my DVD from 60Hz NTSC to 50Hz PAL via my beloved RR Studio or Marvel G200 gives me dropped frames .
Well, I'm sure my TV can do what's called "PAL 60". Is there any possibility to tweak my TV-Output on either my Marvel or RR Studio to display the screen in 60Hz rather than 50Hz? Maybe some hacking in some monitor.inf??

    Hope someone can help.

    Regards,

    Duke

As far as I know, PAL60 in Realmagic decoders is:
(NTSC standard 525 lines at 60 fields per second) with (PAL Phase Alternating Line chromaticity coding).

As far as I remember, RR_G distinguishes standards not by chroma modulation type, as all TV's do, but by FPS and number of lines.
If you set PAL in RR_G, it becomes tied to 25 frames per second and refuses to work at any different frame rate. The same is true for the number of lines in frame.

There is no way to force RR_G to use PAL60

If you get Remote Selector from http://www.visualdomain.net which lets you change the output TV standard from your dxr2 which you can feed straight into your TV or your RR-G in PAL mode.

        Ok.

I'm heading for an NTSC-capable TV now! The PAL60-output of my Dxr2 sux, because you cannot read any subtitles without headache because of all this flickering.

Go and download Remote Selector change the refresh rate to 50Hz and the colour to European and then you have pure PAL output. You can also turn off macrovision.

This can be feed straight into your capture card (although doing this is illegal)
