  • For the film guys

I used to do my own wet work - drum proccessing for color, tray for B&W, untill I got my first super uber cool 24bit 300dpi Microtek Now I just do C41 and E6 for film and scan negative and positives for the ever rarer non digital occasions - epson 1640 for medium format film and prints, canon fs4000 for 35mm

    What do you guys do?

Yes I drive a 13yr old Volkswagen; Yes I'm a dirt poor college student; Yes every tank of gas is more $$ than the value of my car, but it is FUN to drive, so I don't care about your ego or how much your car cost, if you insist on going the exact same speed in the passing lane as the car next to you for 10 minutes, stop being a self righteous ass, move the hell over and just let me by!!!

Most of the time I just get my film developed cheap at someplace nearby. If it's something I particularly want to come out good then I'll go to a local photo store. Not that I've been doing much photography lately. For a while I was a member of Seattle Filmworks (or Filmworks.com if you prefer). I eventually decided it was too much hassle though to keep doing that.

As for scanning, digitizing, whatever you want to call it, I mostly don't. There's a very small set of shots that I actually would like to have scanned, and I've just never bothered to do it. For the moment I'm just being impatient till I have the funds to get a Canon 10D.

I used to do a bit of B&W work though and had several places where I could do the developing myself. I haven't had access to those places in a few years though, and as I said, I've not done much photography lately anyway.

    Film is too expensive.
