    Technology would thwart unwanted photo-taking and even prevent clandestine videos from being made in theaters.


    Wonder how long it'll be before;

    1. someone comes out with a lens filter that disables the disabler

    2. someone comes out with a portabe version for disabling security/surveillance cams

    I've taken a picture of our security cameras where I work and yes, they do reflect in a distinctive way. If the camera detector uses IR so that it isn't obvious to the naked eye you should be able to use an external hot mirror held at an angle to block the effect.

      I wonder why they use visibile light...

      They could just send a beam of IR light, as it will mess up the picture anyway (just take a photo of an IR remote while pressing a button). But of course, in time there would be filters that block IR.
