  • Batch edit EXIF data

    Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has used an EXIF editor. I've looked in the past, but today's specific need is to basically change timezone. My girlfriend has holiday snaps in GMT, but they were taken in Florida. We need to subtract 5 hours (and one 'day' where appropriate).

    Thanks in advance,

    Paul.

Have you tried exifer? I don't know if it can do what you want, but it's the only dedicated EXIF software I know off the top of my head.
There's an Opera in my macbook.

I'm a bit late to respond... (sorry)

Quite often, EXIF information is checked using a CRC to prevent tampering. So while it is possible to alter some of the data fields, chances are not all software will accept these changes (IIRC, a CRC check is performed on some of the EXIF fields).
I have tried software to enter coordinates in the EXIF fields, but while the coordinates are stored in the photo, most software will not display it (as it considers the original data to be tampered with).

Even later response from me... but thanks for that - Exifer did exactly as required. Simply select all the images, edit, then choose + or -, and the time difference.

I could not actually see any options to edit camera make/model and the exposure settings, so perhaps they are protected to prevent any issues with a CRC checksum.
