I love my S5.
I had the S3 but sold it to get the S5 so that I could use an external flash with bounce capability which makes such a huge difference.
It sucks that the FPS went down from 2.x (S3) to 1.5FPS (S5) but it just means you have to adjust your timing when shooting in continuous mode.
I was able to zoom through the pit area at a recent PBOC track day with the 430EX flash. The on-board flash would have had me waiting all the time for it to recycle.
Awesome camera, I highly recommend it. It's like a mini-dSLR / video camcorder with stereo sound. -

I bought this camera after comparing it with the others in this category. I'm satisfied with my choice. The movie function is really great. I love it.
It sometimes tends to overexpose, though, at least in my pictures.
