I'm uploading 100's of photographs my grandfather took in the war.

and this is a long shot but is this scene recognizable to anyone? theres no writing on the back, i believe he was in France, Italy, and north Africa somewhere.

that is the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy; here's the Wikipedia entry for it. Just google for "tower pisa" and you'll get more pics you need

If you know the division or company he was in, you can probably trace his route from the military campaign history.

My guess is south of France, where the Germans did not have a chance to blow many of the bridges. Maybe the Rhone valley ?

Well, I guess it wasn't that strong in my case thanks to wonders of national socialism (official termof the period by the regim of the period) - From my early childhood I hsd both colour and b&w photos, obviously mixed chronologically :>

So there had to be something wrong with my assumptions...
