Thanks for all the feedback gang.

    I'm down to the:

    Linksys BEFN2PS4
Netgear RO114 (The new version of the RT314)
    D-Link DI-704

I don't need 8 ports so the RO318 would be overkill.

Which of these is the easiest to use for gaming.

I read that the Linksys are fast but not easy to setup.
There are problems with the Netgear RT314 and RO114 and UT. Couldn't find much on the D-Link DI-704.

Hey Paul! I have the Linksys single port router that I use in conjuntion with a switch and a print server. It is very easy to use for gaming ( i.e. port forwarding, etc.). I don't know how in the world someone could label the Linksys as "hard to use", since it has a very nice web based interface. My brother has a netgear RT314, and I've compared the two, but I still like my Linky better. Good Luck!

Hmmm.... My friend has a Netgear ISDN router and we've never had a problem with UT.

Netgear RT314 here on Telus ADSL. Had some odd disconnect problems traceable to the router until I installed the latest firmware. I spoof the MAC address of my nic and this works just fine. The Linksys is probably okay but if you want something that looks good, the Netgear has a really nice black metal case not blue plastic.

Just to make it official, I'm also using the LinkSys single port router (BEFSR11, I think is it's model number). They also make a 4 port version, which is very similar (in fact, the user's manual is for both), the BEFSR41. In fact, the BEFN2PS4 appears to just be a derivative of the 41, adding the Voice capability (not bad, but may make setup a little more complicated).

Also, as far as configuration goes, at least for the non-Voice products, it's really pretty straightforward, especially if you plan to use DHCP from your ISP and you DON'T need a DMZ (read: get a second IP from the ISP, heh).

It's down to the Linksys 4-port or the new Netgear RP114. The Linksys seems to be very popular but the new NetGear router is very compact and has all the features of the RT314.

Anyone have experience with the SOHOware 4-port router???

I will go home with a router tonight but which one.....LOL

You probably won't go wrong with any of them, so get whatever you can find at the best price and you can save yourself the debate.
