XP to support Aureal SQ2500??

    The Game Theater uses a proprietary (to Hercules) offboard chip in its external rack. This chip is what causes all the problems.

    The Santa Cruz (and the Videologic board) are basically reference boards, which always works out well in the "supporting a new(er) OS" arena.

    I'm working on a separate post where I detail the sound card hell I've gone through, and arrive at the conclusion that the Santa Cruz (and/or Videologic board, you can interchange the drivers) are the only viable solution for today's Win2k/WinXP machines.

      I thought this was interesting. Apparently, M$ IS doing some work on the Aureal drivers. Wonder how Creative is allowing this, since they own all the intellectual property...
