Yes, EAC is the thing to use. I was tired having to test-play all the encoded files for knacks,... after encoding them and so switched from CDex to EAC. No erraneous files since then.
It might be a bit slower than other audio-grabbers but then you can be quite sure that you get a correct file - and if not you're at least informed about possible errors.
Sorry to drag this to the top, but I wanted to say that the link to the tutorial LS gave was fantastic. I ripped my first CD today and setting up the encoding process was a snap!
I've been wanting to do this for a while but never got around to it and this made it wonderfully easy.
I can't punch thru the firewall here at work for the freeDB option but I'll give it a go later at home - would be a HUGE timesaver.
Didn't I hear that the CDDB or freeDB was recently the subject of a lawsuit or a big stink over who owns the user-entered data?
