Does anybody have a file called "gapi32.dll" on their W2K machine? Do you know where it came from if you have it, may I have a copy of it if you dont mind?

Can somebody suggest a "proper" value that can be used with this registry key (see attached screen shot), that will prevent an "error" event being entered into the system logs whenever W2K is started?

Running W2K+SP2 with no hassles otherwise

It comes with Microsoft Office and the description is "Microsoft Mail Configuration Library".
You should be able to find it on the CD.

IRPStackSize - Specifies how many stack locations the Server service establishes for I/O Request Packets (IRPs).

Valid values are 11 to 20, with the default being 11.

By default Win2K does not add this entry. It must be added by third party application, or manual registry editing.

        Here's an official reference...

        Hope it helps...

          Thanks there Guyver as well.

Next time you are in South Africa join Kim in the pub!

Looks like I am the only twit chasing down these useless error messages in the systemlog, or are other people never bothering to view the log?

I read it once in a while, usually only when something's went wrong, but at other times to try and pretend I'm a conscientious system admin

I also have your error I believe, I'll thank Kim/Guyver for when I work on it later
