Gurm: The proposed settlement between McCrappie and Norton was close to $1 billion. Don't know if it was ever paid out. The court found that McCrappie copied Norton's software line for line - McCrappie wasn't smart enough to make small code changes to hide their tracks. I wouldn't use McCrappie based on principle alone.

They've must have copied an early beta of Norton and failed to improve on it.
At least we agree mcafee is shitty software.

        How come

Nobody likes Datafellows free DOS antivirus F-PROT?

It has updates every two weeks or so (you have to find them on the ftp site) and a new version releases every couple of months. I've used them on DOS, Win9x/SE, NT4 & W2K Professional no problem.

        Go to http://www.datafellows.com/download-...se/tools.shtml
