I hardly ever (as in practically never) use netscape. I use IE and opera mostly, mozilla at times and Konqueror when in Linux. QNX's voyager isn't bad either

Well in Mozilla 0.9.2 on my system the top table containing the "user cp" etc buttons does not resize properly. The other problem is the table cells that hold the user info on the left side of a post have variable width and not a set standard width as I see in IE. See the examples below.

Hmm, using Mozilla 0.9.2 here and I don't have any problems with resizing and those "user cp",... buttons, but I do have the somewhat strange looking variable width for user information as well.

BTW, if you're at editing the post, please edit my vote from Netscape to Mozilla (there was no Mozilla-option when I voted).

I'm using Mozilla .9.1. .2 kept crashing on me a lot.

I don't see the resizing of the upper buttons, but do have the variable spacing on the user info.

Opera mainly since 3.x. Nothing beats it's W3C compliance. Rock stable (in Windows at least) and if it crashes out of some freak reason it restarts where you left off. It's the browser to end all browser questions, if you ask me

Ah, yeah I do have the problem with the table cells, but I noticed it the first time, and don't notice it anymore. I've had the user cp... do the same thing once, but I hit reload, and I've never seen it off again. Although I don't usually look up there, so maybe it does it but I don't see it.

I just installed one of the later nightlies and it cured the variable width for the user-info field - so the freshly released 0.9.3 should cure it as well - haven't tried, though (still dl'ing)

0.9 -> 0.9.3

what should I say?

variable table width in both version
the user cp problem only in 0.9.3
the black background next to the MURC FORUMS logo is gone with 0.9.3

Forget what I posted about the fixed width user-info field with the nightly. Seems it was just a page without Avatars (http://forums.murc.ws/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27646). On pages with MURCers using Avatars it's the same variable width as the 0.9.2 release.

BTW, I've now installed the 0.9.3 release and the problem is here as well. Plus it crashes everytime I want to start the mail-client..... Going for a new nightly.

The real figures

Just to give you some real world info on what the visitors to the MURC actually use as a browser I can tell you from the server logs of some 300,000 page views over the last 3 weeks that:

81.57% of viewers used some form of MS Internet Explorer
10.12% Netscape 4.x
3.45% Mozilla
2.94% Opera

Old timers still hanging around:

MS Internet Explorer 2.0d
Netscape Navigator 3.0a

I used to be a hardened Netscape fan, until Navigator 4.x became too unreliable, and Netscape 6.X is utter crap - barely more stable than 4.x and without the ease of use that 4.x had.
Example - wtf cant you cut and paste to and from the URL bar anymore?
Much as I dislike aiding the Micro$oft empire, IE 5 is stable and fairly easy to use. I just wish the sodding thing wasnt embedded in the OS so you could uninstall and reinstall if it gets screwed. - which happened to me running the Windows Update. Had to reinstall my entire 98 partition.

NS 6.x is an utter piece of crap. All it is is a really old Mozilla build with AOL crap thrown on top. Easy to figure out that old build + AOL is going to mean trouble. If you want to go back to NS, I suggest you start downloading http://www.mozilla.org
