why do my explorer windows open as a blue title bar only?

title says it all. Open a link, and up pops a title bar which I have to maximise.

Any ideas?

Sounds like they got closed at that size (I've seen this happen when Explorer crashes while running Windowblinds with a window rolled up). Next time it happens, stretch the window out, then hold CTRL when you close. This should cause Windows to remember the new size.
