  • k6-3 heat problems

i have just purchased a new heatsink and fan for a 450mhz k6-3 (it is a globalwin fop32-1), the chip is reported to be running at between 42 and 45 degrees C in the bios depending on how long it has been running.
is this too hot for the chip or should it be running cooler?
also the fan on the chip should run at 4200rpm but the bios is only reporting it as 3300 - 3500 rpm is this likely to be a bios problem or could the fan be faulty? the fan i replaced was reported at 4200rpm by the bios.
also are there any reliable cpu temperature moniters that run in windows?
    any help appreciated
    many thanks

Try Motherboard Monitor, download it from here .

When I had a k6-3 450 the temp was normally between 45-49 degrees C. So I dont think that your temp is too high.
