Am I the only in love with Samsung's mobile?

    Look, for example, at:

And you can always stick into them an MP3 add-on which cost is really cheap...

GPRS would be quite nice to have, prices for the service are going down.

the other options mentioned (thx) are not really helpful, as I would only pay 90€ (S45/ME45, the nokias) or less for the previous mentioned phones.

I#m using the S45 for approx. 7 months now. Experienced one failure, but no one after the software upgrade (the upgrade worked like a charm). You can find a lot of infos and reports about the Siemens here http://www.siemensinfo.de/

          I would recommend it.

Yes the T68i is very good. I got the T200 though, money is the reason. I can say I'm very happy with it. Ericsson is the way to go.

Funny, if I had to say any Nokia was unreliable, it would be the sodding 6210!
I had a 6120 and a 6150 as company phones for a couple of years - no problems. Then we all get upgraded to 6210s on the Orange tarrif, and it wasnt long before problems surfaced.
Of around 30 phones issued, many have a tendancy to just turn themselves off for no reason. Several more have locked up in a menu and had to be 'cold booted' by removing and replaceing the battery, some more suddenly refuse to receive a signal and have to be cold booted, and finally my one went through a stage where it wouldnt recognise my car kit if it had less than half charge in the battery. Again, solved by removing and replacing the battery each time it happened.

My dad's company has been issued with 6210s as well, and all their guys are reporting the same sort of problems.

I have the 6310, that was mentioned on the first page (I skipped a few once I noticed the date).

This phone is a pain in the arse!

Who in their right mind makes a phone with dark green text on dark grey buttons? You cant read the bloody things most of the time.

Also, when you unlock the keypad, it takes AGES for it to stop saying 'Keypad Active' (well, about 1 sec I suppose). If I activate the keypad, its because I want to use it NOW!

With my old phone, if you hit any key after activating then it would accept it and start working.

Also, when I change the profile to 'Silent' in bloody beeps. Why the hell does it do that?

The blueTooth doesnt work, well, it doesnt work on non-Nokia bluetooth adapters.

The IR is nice, and works the way you would expect.

You cant buy USB data cables, but only serial ones. Im not going to spend NZ$99 for a bloody serial cable!

Apart from that, its nice and light, the battery lasts for ages, and its nice and compfy in your pocket. The scheduler is a god send also.

Wow, my first mini-review. I give it a 4 out of 10 (Im a hard marker).

My trust 6210 fell into a pint of beer and now rest's in peace.

I went into town yester to scope out a replacement. I like everything the T68i does, but the screen looks a little naff these days (256colour) and the software is not the nicest... I agree with you about the P800 Steve. That's one nice looking phone.

All I want is something that will sync contacts with outlook and be usable with my PDA. My PDA will do the rest. Unfortunatley there aren't many bluetooth phones out there and IrDA sucks!

I could go for the 6310i, but well... it's not very original. Especially as Nokia are about to dump the current range and replace them with 4K colour phones....

                      Anh ideas?

I had a motorola before but sending text messages was a bit tricky if you didnt know the number off by heart. I had a phillips phone too, it was a simple phone but to big now.

Battery life on the Nokias is awesome too.
I too have a Nokia 3330 and it's been very nice. The messaging feature works quite well as do voice dialing and all the other toys.

I also agree the menuing system is very easy to use (if my wife can manage using it.... ) and that the battery life is phenominal in that I only have to charge it twice a week; tops. The other recent phones I've had hardly lasted a couple of days and the old Motorola I had required me to carry a spare battery around, and that was with NiMH's

The only problem with the Nokia is that when I go to leave on an errand I can't find it. 99.9999% of the time this means that Erik, our 4 year old, has "borrowed" it so he can play the games; mostly Space Impact & Snake II

Went out yesterday scouting for phones for my girlfriend - she's probably going to go for the Sharp GX10 - seems a cool phone! Nice big colour screen and the camera's a bonus. Plus you can download games to it

Remember carphone warehouse give you £50 off a new phone if you give them any old phone+charger+manual. All it has to do is turn on

Carlsberg for me, and a pint of heavy for the phone

                                You tit

6310i is a lot nicer than the 6210, whilst performing just like it

You get Java too, and because of that you get a much faster processor from what I can tell. Your message inbox will load snappily even when you've got 150 messages stored on the phone

If I was picking a colour phone, I'd go for the 6610, which should be hitting most UK stores within a few weeks (some have it already).

What network? Orange (and T-Mobile) currently have no plans to take the 6610 on board.

Looks like I'll be getting a 6310i for myself.

                                P.
