  • IE6 and office XP

I've got four pc's with office xp installed some of these are also dual boot machines. I've noticed that IE6 doesn't install on these machines. Has anyone else noticed this?

Nope. I've got Office XP on my home machine along with IE6 and had no problems.

Do you get any errors when you try installing IE6?

Well nothing installs and it tells you nicely that the setup has failed and do you wish to run it again. Run it again and you get the same message. Thats if you run the setup program from the internet or download the whole download.
The only other thing that they have in common is that they all had IE6 beta on.

... and you removed the Betas first?

Sounds like you might have some left over registry entires.

Can you get IE 5.5 installed? Maybe you can then install IE 6 afterwards.

The PIT: I´ve got exactly the same problem. I let the ie6setup.exe do the download for me and at the end it won´t istall, screwing up the system. I tried to download it again, then the install files were like 2Mb shorter and, gess what, no problems that time...
