"Local LG reseller..."
Err... not in the USA, my friend.

P.S. I'm not just being a jerk. In the USA, LG's major presence is "Goldstar" branded items, which are bottom of the barrel VCR's, TV's, and low-end monitors. The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

LG
Hoho,
LG builds some damn fine stuff, inlcuding CRT and LCD monitors. High quality stuff is usually branded LG (with the red circle logo), cheapo is Goldstar or Lucky Goldstar (with the written logo). Goldstar is more present, granted. AFAIK, LG is together with Samsung the only company that builds and developes their own flat tubes that are not related to Sony's Trinitron and aperture grills. Added benefit is that these flat tubes don't have the damper wires, and thus no fine lines.
I have seen an LG FT795plus (17" CRT) in a commercial ad from Best Buy, i think (or was it CompUSA?), as well on computer fairs. Can't remember the price tag, though. You definitely can get them in the US.
I have read lots of good things about these monitors, but also a bunch of gripe, so i figure that taking a look before buying is best.
Regards
BTW, my own quest for a monitor ended with the purchase of an Samtron 76B. Cheap but it works for me.

That's a tad small Jord, The GE Telaria Projectors I use to setup would easily do a 30'x 30' and the ones out now by various companies can do more than that!"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." -- Dr. Seuss
