MS Dos programs always wants to restart windows

How do you stop Windows from always rebooting to run dos based programs. This even happens if you type in command in the run menu.

You may try to edit X:\WINDOWS\_default.pif, where X:\WINDOWS denotes the folder where OS is installed.


Edited: this will prevent such a behaviour of newly created DOS shortcuts. To alter existing shortcuts you may try Properties|Program|Advanced|uncheck MS-DOS mode.
