  • Installing Stuff with Rounded IDE Cables

I was wondering if anyone has any experience using these rounded IDE cables, do the ends twist at all ?
is it easy to tie them ? and are they worth it ?

also I have to use lengthy cables as the hx-08 is really tall, any info would be much appreciated

Ever since I found out that for better stability
(using a burner, dvd drive and two hard drives)

Ive had to rework the innard's of my system... and its hell to twist those damn flat ide cables around the power supply's power cables taking up top half where the "5 1/4" drive bay's are in my Aopen HX-08 case)

My flat cable twisting torcher configuration:

IDE 1 Channel *MASTER* IBM hard drive (on the end of the cable) to my *SLAVE* HP Burner (in the middle of the cable)

    and

IDE 2 channel *MASTER* MAXTOR hard drive (on the end of the cable) to my *SLAVE* HITACHI Dvd drive ( in the middle of the cable)

I'm using rounded cables in my new system. They are very easy to work with..no problwm with the ends, and I have them tied back with those plastic click ties.

I got them at colorcase.com. They are only 8.99 there...a lot cheaper than other online stores I have visited.
