  • Hmm, what goes where ... ?

I'm about to do some major reconfiguring on my systems:

I have this at the moment:

    ECS K7S5A (SIS 735) w. 256 MB PC2100
    Soltek SL-75KAV (KT133A) w. 512 MB PC133
    Athlon 1200
Duron 650 (runs perfectly at 866)
    30 GB Maxtor Harddrive
    13 GB Maxtor Harddrive
    G400
    GF2 Pro

I want to make a system for gaming and another for more serious fun (browsing, office etc etc).

I rarely play 3D games, so main focus will be on the 'serious' system.

Could you fellow MURC'ers give me your input on which bit to put in which system ?

    Hello CHHAS

When you say serious, what do you intend to do? I also have the ECS board but what a bummer, It has given me nothing but problems.

    regards MD

ps you could try the following.
You could try the equivalent of a lucky dip. Put everything into a box, close your eyes and remove bits at a time. Try it and see what you end up with

perhaps he ends up with the soltek board and the PC2100 ram?

I think it's easy, I would do it the following way:

-overclocking not possible with the ECS
-ddr ram into the ECS board
      -more ram for the workstation
-better 2d image quality for the workstation
-hdd.. depends on how many games you want to install....

now use some logic and voila - there are your new systems!
