    You can still access your drive through the lan whatever filesystem it is formatted to as long as it is supported by the operating system doing the share.

      cool than my problem solved... i wanted to use NTFS anyway, but did not think i could access info on it thru network... I guess i'll format it in NTFS. No performance downfalls though right ? the security will be great !

      Oh, I'm only getting 74.5Gigs, is that normal that much loss !? Also what cluster size should i use 16K too ? to speed up the performance as well as have less wasted space...

            dizzy: you can just use whatever NTFS wants to default to. It's pretty efficient.

                just for the record, the largest FAT32 partition size you'll be able to make using win2k/XP is 32Gb. if you want larger you'll have to do it with a win98 starup disk!
