Just tried the newest ATI Win2k drivers for the 8500 (5.13.3286) on my Radeon64DDR and from what I've tested so far I can recommend them: they're faster for most things (but especially for 3DMark2k1, of course ) and no problems up to now, TVout works (didn't try VideoIN), Direct 3D and OGL is fine - image-quality seems to be a bit up overall and they have fixed the QIII-cheat. Win2k speed is said to be on par with 98 now.

So if you're looking for better drivers for your old Radeon you might want to give these a chance - simply do a manual install as the included installer only looks for Radeon8500 and will refuse to install on older cards.
