It looks like you might be stuck.....

This you could try (it worked for me on old NT 3.51)

Take ALL the cards out of your PC

could you get an old ISA video card an stick it in until you get windows installed?

    tweak your bios to fix

    upgrade your cards

alternatively by a new notherboard and cpu, it might be less hassle!!!

you dont have a profile of your PC, but I am asuming its a bit underpowered.... its a PGA 370 socket mobo, if I remember, and that would be lmited to 500 Mhz? I know an upgrade cost hard earned readies, but windows 2000 will be a dog when you install applications on this motherboard (unless you have a LOT of Ram to assist...) Dont buy RAM for this board, if it is an interim, you wont be able to reuse it in anything of the current generations...

    Sorry,
    RedRed

BTW, Yes, if you are having problems with win2k, you will with win XP....

      Thanks for the advice RedRed!
Sorry about the missing system specs! Here they are:
      P-III @450 MHz, Slot 1
192 MB PC100 SDRAM (Already replaced sticks, tried different configs)
      Acorp i440zx mobo
      4.3 GB Samsung ATA33 HDD
Matrox Millennium G200 AGP 8 MB
      Creative Vibra 128 soundcard etc....
Btw, I have been able to install and run Win2k perfectly, but only when I removed the soundcard! Putting it back in resulted in those bluescreens coming back! And Win2k ran well on my system, infact it was faster than Win 98 in almost everything, including games!! The only thing it was slower in was the startup time. The fact that Win2k ran much better than Win 98 is the reason I'm desperate to go back to it!! Add to that, I've already spent some money replacing the memory and the soundcard, so I can't replace the mobo!! So I guess I'm stuck! BooHoo!!

        Problem solved!!

I finally managed to install Windows XP!! Although I never managed to change the PCI Latency setting, I found out that it was not even required. But in order to install Windows 2000/XP I did have to change a lot of settings in the bios. They are as follows:
Assign IRQ to USB – Disabled
Auto Configuration (in Chipset settings) – Disabled
        Disabled everything in Power options.
Earlier, my soundcard was on IRQ 9, but after disabling IRQ for USB, the s/c moved to IRQ 10 (earlier used by USB). I noticed a strange thing: Although there were no conflicts anywhere in my system, the soundcard always preferred to move over to an IRQ other than 9 (e.g. If I disabled the COM ports, the s/c moved over to IRQ 3, but that didn’t solve the problem with Windows 2000/XP). But for now, things are working fine! And disabling the above settings hasn’t affected the performance too!
I’m posting this so that it can serve as a reference in case someone else has a similar problem!
        Cheers
