Maybe I should check some settings (BIOS etc.)

3DMark (any version) is quite dependent on the CPU.
I have an AthlonXP1700+ that was running at 1562MHz (142*11) for these tests.
Oh yes, the Radeon was oc'ed to 285/279 (core/mem) via PowerStrip.

I run an AthlonXP1700+ too, but do not overclock anything.
3DMarks2001 is now 7301.
But who cares about those numbers.
Could play the Serios Sam second encounter Demo at 1600x1200 - it ran very smooth and look really good.
But somehow, I liked the IQ of my G400 even more.

Do you use the version on CD?
I thought there was a new version out, but just can't find something newer than 7.1

Yes, I use the version on CD (which is 7.2, btw). There is in fact a new, much better looking 7.5 out (~40MB, I got it here, don't know if this link still works), but I found the 7.5 to have no real extra functionality and buggy. Had crashes while DivX playback and the "keep size aspect" in file-player doesn't work with 7.1 AND 7.5 but it works with 7.2 - since I always cut the black borders off when FLASKing/DivX'ing (to spare the bitrate for where it's really needed) I absolutely need the "keep aspect" function. So I reverted to 7.2.
