Running "regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll" disables most zip folders, but apparently not the ones on floppy disks. Is there a way to get rid of them completely?

Quick 'n' Dirty:
(This will, however, remove your association of WinZip with .zip files as well, so you'll need to restore that afterwards - pretty simple.)
start->run->cmd
regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll

if you install winrar from http://www.rarsoft.com it will handle all .rar .zip .ace some .exe files. and is a great program. it takes over the windows integrated system. hope that helps.

Angerboy:
Unfortunately, WinRAR does NOT stop Zip Folders from letting you peek into zip files from the Save or Open dialogue boxes, which is what we mean by "completely disable".

P.S. My fix works, it's quick, and it's permanent. Give it a shot!The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!
