Why isn't the XP 2000 fast enougth.
All I've noticed is that the notable differance between the processors get less as time goes on which says the bottleneck is elsewhere.

The 2000 or the 2100 is the last Palomino, it seems.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

If you want the best info on this stuff (when this or that AMD processor will be out etc.) go to the AMD board on The Motley Fool.

type in AMD at the bottom.

The real question I think is: When will we have a new AMD chipset for Thoroughbred and Barton which will incorporate Hypertransport and use a 166 (333) MHz bus? They're working on this, and it will probably be out before mid-year (at least I hope it will). I might buy one then, or I might wait til Hammer comes out.. dunno.
