are you targetting something like this ?

Obviously, this setup would be a lot faster than just replacing the CPU while keeping the FSB in spec.

Okey dokey, back to buisnes then:

The G450/550 core chip clocking is not dependent on agp clock...

If you want to overclock those card then take a look at the file section of m.u.r.c main site or use powerstrip...

Both does card may or may not be stable on agp clock speeds over 66MHZ...

I have heard different acounts both fore and against!

Personaly I would leave the AGP speed alone as it wont sped up the card a bit!!

Clocking the cards core chip and memory will ofcoarse make them faster but thats up to the specifik card you got, not all silicone is equal...

        Maggi,

Does it run in a frezer or only 5 minutes at a time?

          Dunno, it's not mine ...

but usually those kind of frequency require to remodel the MoBo and add some serious peltier cooling so that the chips run way below 0°C/32°F.

here's a nice P4 score and have a look at the BIOS temp readout below:

coming back to topic, it seems that those extreme overclockers all swear on old Millennium and Mystique PCI cards with either two or four MB video RAM ... go figure.

My G400 ran at a 100Mhz AGP bus on an old BX board if that helps. Dont know about the G450 or G550 though, but as they are both high quality cards, they should be ok.

                When I say 100Mhz, I mean a 1:1 multiplyer with a FSB at 100Mhz

Ali many of us know that the G400 can... but will he then complain that it won't do AGP2-4x? hehe

                  -------------------

Look guy it's not as simple as changing out a crystal like your l33t Apple ][+ it must have a PLL!!! Now if you don't want our advise then don't ask for it... but I will tell you right off the bat that you've already made so many improper conclusions as how to do that you don't know what you're getting into.

If ya wana trick out the clock circuit with a crystal... go for it... but don't comeback whining when it doesn't work.

If you're willing to take our advise and still feel like playing with this then PLL clock lock it. But the bottom line is it will be cheaper to buy a faster cpu, add a decient HS/Fan and be done with it. (assuming I'm not as l33t tweaker as yourself in such matters heh heh RAMBUS
