  • Question about a broken speaker

Howdy all. My neighboor moved out a few months back and left my brother and I a pretty decent stash of old stereo stuffs. One thing I got out of the whole thing is a pair of pretty fair sounding speakers. Problem is, the foam stuff around the edge of one of the 15" drivers has completely fallen apart, and the other is starting to go as well.

Is there any way to re-foam them, or do I have to start saving for a new set of speakers? I would hate to throw them out, it will take me at least 6 months to save enough for a new set, so if anyone knows how to fix em, I'd love to hear from you.

Well... you could always just use Google and search for speaker foam repair. There's tons of sites that have stuff that you're looking for.

See the ICQ message I sent RM

Nail polish will eat the foam surround... and if I'm thinking right they're in horrid condition (full blown dry rot)... nothing short of a surround replacement will work... if not a full reconing

Besides I linked RM up with the info he needs

might be hard to find someone willing to recon you, when you live between here and eternity. Long cab ride Unless you visit the pro shop!

using my own sickness induced reasoning, here we go...

I believe Greebe lives in Florida (near Eglin, AFB?), so that must be "here" and, if Vegas is the other variable in the equation of "between here and Eternity", then Xortam lives somewhere around the Mississippi river valley.

So, on second thought, maybe the recon mission will go well for ya

Looks like I'll have to change my locale. The site used to use the description "From" and now its been changed to "Location" so it should say "From Here To Eternity", as in the title of the WWII film. For the record ... I live in the South Bay, Silicon Valley.

Vegas! ... My buddy always liked going to CES every year. Not to check out the gadgets but to check out the porn stars in their own show tent.

oh, my bad, it does say "from" not "between", like I said, I am not too healthy today. Sorry. :/
