G400 Max and TV out.

Hey I need a little help getting my g400max set up to display on my television. I bought all the neccessary wires, and I believe I have everything wired correctly, but i can't seem to get a picture. I think my problem is gettig the Dualhead clone active.
I'm running powerdesk 6.51, which I believe is the newest set of drivers, besides some beta drivers I found, but haven't tried installing yet.
When I go into my dualhead tab, and go to Dualhead Clone ... I can't seem to find a place to active it, like all the other dualhead features.
IF anyone can give some advice, I'd be very thankful.

You have to assign a hotkey for it ... no other way to toggle it on/off.

Usually you don't need to use the Clone mode for
watching movies on your TV, for that you should enable DVD Max in your advanced display properties and also setup the correct TV standard (PAL or NTSC).

thanks the dualhead clone worked very well. One thing though. I haven't tried the DVDMax yet, but the media I'm watching isn't DVD. Its just plain windows media files
When I start playign a video file. The video coming through windows media player doesn't show. And If I try maximizing the picture, then it doens't show anything. Is there somethign I should set under Dualhead Clone, or should I just try to figure something out with DVDMax? Remember I'm not watchign dvds. Thanks.

DVD Max is just the name, it works for almost all videos that use overlay, ie. most AVIs, all MPEGs some Quicktimes.

it's meant to playback the video on your TV in fullscreen while the player is still in window mode and under certain circumstances you could even mimize the player while playback continues on your TV.

The name DVDMax is more of a marketing one and doesn't limit itself to use with only DVD's... any overlayed video should trigger it to display the video on the second head in full screen mode... or TVout if the cable is attached prior to bootup.

or even after bootup when you connect the cable and do a 'scan for hardware changes' in device manager (rightclick in device manager)

More questions!

I tried getting this workign recently with no success, but I'd never got around to asking anyone about it.

My current desktop is 1600x1024x32m at 90hz, is there a maximum resolution or frequency the primary display can use in order to support a second display?

for DVD-MAX:yes. Try lowering your refresh rate and/or resolution
for CLone/Multidisplay: I don't have a clue
