That thread seems more like a discussion of Matrox's past failures, as well as a few Matrox-faithful hoping that the next Matrox vaporware will be released this year.

The GF4 is real, and can be ordered now.

You forgot the GF2 TI and also that there are sdram and ddr versions of the MX series plus that you have 32mb, 64mb and 128mb versions of the cards!

Considering that the first GF2's weren't any faster than the fastest GF1's... and that the GF3Ti200 is slower than a standard GF3...

Why can't they make cards called:

            - Pretty Fast
            - Very Fast
            - Bitchin' Fast
            - Extremo-Spazzmatic Fast

I say look at the price. Pretty good. Seems like the age of extremely high price G-Farts are finally over. I know this is a MX modell, and I guess the baddest models will cost a fortune though.

What the hell am I talking about!!!

And you can have a guess who's achievement this is. Seems NVidia got a bit scared about the Radeon8500 (and it's very competitive price).
A new good - as opposed to the G450 and G450.5 (a.k.a.G550) cripple-cards - Matrox product would really help the market as well, even if it was expensive.

Actually, add the Geforce SDR and DDR to the series, since they were released after the G400Max! (It really has been that long! )

You know, Computers4Sure having it listed means absolutely nothing. They don't even have a picture. I wouldn't be surprised if people never get it for that price either?

Don't you remember when the G400 was coming out? buy.com or some other big online retailer was taking orders for them. People waited for months, and their orders were still on "backorder." You couldn't cancel the order or you were charged the "restocking fee." And when said retailer finally got the cards in stock they cancelled all of the pre-orders by selling the the Matrox cards as a different inventory number, for a higher price. They tried to lean on Matrox to lower the price (I bet), but Matrox wouldn't budge.

I wouldn't be surprised if Computers4Sure is just taking the orders so they can try to lean on VisionTek for a lower price based on large numbers of pre-orders.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Wow, a card speed named after Gurm. Will they release a B*tchin' Fast Gurm edition? What software bundle comes with it? Did they steal more Matrox employees to integrate Render Nude Feature into it?

                        Sorry Gurm, I couldn't resist.

                          GF4 MX = GF3 MX

The "GeForce4 MX" chip is codenamed NV17, and should realy be called "GeForce3 MX"

Well, well, a PR trick from the nVidiots

It's ok Grail, I noticed as soon as I hit reply that my name looked like part of that list.

But I decided to leave it. Amazingly, only you got the joke!
