The first time I saw "Independence Day" in the theater, we were in the front row of a converted theater. Converted to Stadium Seating, that is. We were about 4 feet from the screen. We lay back (the chairs reclined) and cars were... well... car-sized.
Anyway, there were some college kids a few rows back, and when the aliens got done with their first barrage, and the statue of liberty was laying face down in the water... the college kids all jumped up and in unison yelled:
