  • How to 'clean up' my Win2K ?

I'm experiencing some unstability during 3D gaming on my Win2K system, which I'm likely to contribute to having 3 different graphics cards installed on the system over some time (GF2, G400 and Voodoo5).

I have tried to clean up between each change of card, but appearently I haven't done too well.

Can anyone tell me how best to clean up my installation, as I'd hate to have to reinstall ?

Sorry, not to be of help concerning your question.

But I have an image of a very well done, clean and fresh install of W2k with the all the necessary progs and all the settings. If I run into trouble, I just boot from a "ghost" floppy, press a button and 10 minutes later I have a clean and 100% stable system back up running that is restored from that image.

Wouldn`t that be an alternative ?

A very good one that's why i also keep images . By the way I guess a reinstall is the best option cleaning is to difficult.

              hmmmm

for the lazier people (myself included) I use regcleaner to dump some of the garbage on my boxes
www.jv16.org and it saves me tons of time troubleshooting as well those pesky issues on unknown PCs I get pestered to look at

              -pickle

ps....dancray this has a tab to clean that up too

I played around with RegCleaner and now I can play games without getting dumped to desktop
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions.
