  • Digi-cam, what specs to look for?

Howdy all. I am looking to get a digital camera in the near future, but I have no idea what i am looking for when I go to pick one. I am thinking things like megapixel rating, zoom options, and such. Also, any particular brands that stand out as much better than others?

Any info or thoughts you have let em flow, I'd love to hear from you.

One interesting thing is what you plan to do with the camera. If you want "photo-quality" printing, then you want 300dpi, as a rough rule of thumb. You can use your desired print size as a guide.

My 2.1MP camera does 1600x1200, so that would be roughly a 5x4" print. But I don't plan on printing much, and the photo-stitching software will work well for landscape pictures.
