  • Can anybody recomand me an 19" monitor

I need a new 19" monitor at home. Can anybody recomand me a good model. Should I get one with BNC connectors,, or should I stay with the D-Sub connector?

Hope to get some good recomandations!

I've had 2 Iiyamas, a VM pro 350 15" and a VM Pro 410 17". Both are excellent and I have no qualms about recommending them. A lot of the guys here recommend Cornerstones, but I've never seem one personally.
I've worked with CTX (good budget) Belinea (crap), Taxan (expensive crap), Compaq (very expensive crap) and Eizo (expensive but good).
I place my Iiyama above the lot of them.
      Athlon XP-64/3200, 1gb PC3200, 512mb Radeon X1950Pro AGP, Dell 2005fwp, Logitech G5, IBM model M.

I'd also recommend a Iiyama. I had a 17" of them for several years and it was great at a still affordable price, so my new 22" monitor is a Iiyama, too. Really a great piece of hardware, although with this I unfortunately I can see the difference in display quality between my current Radeon8500 and my old G400 (which was not really possible with the17").

There are a lot of people that really like Cornerstones here.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Cornerstones rule! I have a p1460 and it is the best monitor I have ever used. Great detail, crisp picture, easy to use controls and not a bad price. There is now a less expensive version out called the p2460. Haven't seen one so I can't tell you how it looks, but it runs under $300.

Give Cornerstone a look see, you won't be disappointed: www.bigmonitors.com

I picked up a ViewSonic A90f 19" at Best Buy for $299 recently and it looks very nice. Very clean image, not too bad on the controls etc.

I think we talked about this a couple of times already and LG is LG here in Europe and not crappy goldstar as in the US!

I assume you know that some of Compaq's monitors are made by Iiyama

Taz - it always depends on which tube is paired with more or less good electronic parts. The fact that they produce some "el cheapo" monitors for Compaq does not mean that their own brand products suck.

Concerning Iiyama I can give the recommendation to have a look at their top product range where they usually have a really good price/performance ratio.

Loads of probs with iiyama Vision Master 451. I'm now on my fourth one and this is on it's way out as well now. However I seen loads of good ones at work so I maybe unlucky. I like NEC monitors.
