  • TV-out help!!!

    Hi!

TV-out is very important to me since I watch a lot of movies. With my g400 max this worked great all the time except for that pal playback thing. Now I own a Radeon 8500 and the tv-output quality is excellent but I have problems with maximizing the image on the tv. In ntsc it works almost perfect but in pal the tv-output refuses to maximize the image vertically. Any suggestions?

Now you might think that I haven't tried to adjust this in the drivers settings but that I have...

Heh, seems like I made a good choise to stay with matrox. I also watch lot of movies on my TV via the tv-out on my G400. Only problem I have is the real player media which won't show correctly in the TV (I get 12 black'n'white movies in the TV) but I suppose it's the w2k driver.
I was planning to buy a radeon 7500/8500 when they were to be released, but then I saw a review which showed buggy drivers so I decided to wait a while. I did not wanna loose my tv-out...

Sound like a strange prob, though. Guess that only thing to do is to wait for new drivers..

I guess the problem is a little bit like the problem on nvidia cards, especially asus cards. Where you have to use tv-tool or something to maximize the tv-output.

The TVOut nearly fits the TV-screen in 800x600 here, just a very small black border at the bottom - but this is not even nearly as bad as the NVidia cards without TVTool which do have a quite big black border on the left, right, top and bottom.

Unfortunately I don't know of a tool for the Radeon that eliminates this small border as well and gives true overscan. And then Matrox must keep at least one last single advantage over the competition, don't they?
But we named the *dog* Indiana...

Well I guess matrox does. Matrox cards are the best cards, except for new games. Hopefully someone will make a tv tool for radeon 8500.
