how to use NetportExpress XL from 98SE or XP?

Hi all
I have acquired one of the above. I know it was deisgned to run from a Netware server, but I was wondering if there is any way I can configure it from dos/windows as a printer server sitting between my router and my parallel printer? This would only be useful if I can print from either PC (one 98SE, the other XP) without the other necessarily being on. I can power it from the UPS (as are the modem & router), so I suppose it would be ok if it had to be programmed each time it was powered up.

It should support TCP/IP so I would have thought that you could get it going under XP by adding a local printer and using the Standard TCP/IP port
