  • Removing drive overlay s/w or non-DOS part.

I found <a href="http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q106419" target="_blank">this</a> KB article on using DOS Debug to make a drive "fdisk-able".
Useful if you don´t can´t get rid of overlay or Linux mbr:s.

I used Debug to poke around and edit the MBR and partition tables of a friend's crashed HDD several years ago. I used the layout info found in the NT Resource Kit book to guide me through the data structures. Nice thing about Debug is you can pretty much count on it being on any Windows machine you're playing with: I wouldn't be surprised that they've yanked it from ME though.
