Name of AMD's next generation processors

Just lissening to the announcemet AMD has on ther 64bit processor

Well, SlegeHammer has just got the name Opteron, this is AMD's Server/Workstation

ClawHammer for desktop is going to continue to have the name Athlon

They are also announcing that Microsoft will make a 64bit version om Windows XP

I think they should keep the Hammer name, it is much cooler.

Well, Opteron is from the Latin optimus meaning best!

I also like the Hammer name!

They shouldn't keep the name of the clawhammer as Athlon, they really should change it.

Why not keep Athlon, the brand has gotten a well deserved respect in the business.

At least even the uneducated people have heard the name "Athlon" and do have a clue about what it's about, that alone saves AMD a whole lot of marketing.
