    AAAHahahahahahaha

    From amdzone:
<b>"In our meeting today with Nvidia we learned that the 615 and 620 nForce chipsets will no longer come to market. These chipsets were to add DDR333 support as a feature. nForce 2 will become the focus for Nvidia's next Athlon chipset. Nvidia will provide us with an official statement soon."</b>

i don´t know, but if matrox can refresh the parhelia with dx9 compliance, then they might have a good shot at the high-end market, i don´t think anyone will choke though, the others will have good cards too, and will most likely make profit in mid/low-end consumer market.
the high-end market is only for us geeks and and "some" bussiness-users, but it does make good brand recognition for the company, so they can sell low/mid-end products, i don´t know if matrox can combine low-prize and high quality.
the compitetion can´t, and i can´t imagine that matrox would drop the quality to compete in prize.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

I'll buy Parhelia, but I'm not sure if it will be top-of-the-fps-hill come Christmas. But it will be easily hundreds of fps, which is more than enough

Nvidia dropped the 615 and 620 basically because they were expecting AMD to move to a 166 Mhz fsb, and that won´t happen because of the clawhammer.
I doubt Nvidia let the lead with NV30. ATI will be very close if not better, but I don´t even want to think about they writting drivers for a new arquitecture...
Matrox won´t have the fastest or maybe the greatest card, but Parhelia really has a nice set of features, and at least it can compete, and that´s a great thing.

And that´s the answer for the nº1 on 3D. On 2D quality and features I think the answer is too obvious

Although I love Matrox dearly, and will in fact be one of the first to buy a parhelia, I don't think they will be able to hold the crown for long.

I can't help but look to the past when I try and forsee the future. Look what happend to the G400(max), It came out, and was amazing, but Nvidia released the Geforce 256 and stole the thunder because it was more gamer friendly. I wouldn't have traded my G400 for for anything at the time, but I'm just not the majority, tha majority wants fast gaming.

Even though the parhelia will very likely have the most robust feature set, even in a year, I think whatever gaming optimized titanium ultra XXX nvidia has out at the time will be the most widely chosen.

I think it should be very interesting. Personally Matrox needs to get the new P-card out to market by the end of next month at the lastest to make some head way with the gamers. It looks like ATI will have the R300 sooner then later..I'm figuring it should be out on the shelfs at the end of october at the lastest, with it demoing Doom 3 at E3.

Nvidia should be very interesting....alot of people are harping oh its going to have 3dfx tech in it....big whoppe ding I say. Yeah 3Dfx was pretty good in the day but it took them 2-3 years to get the Rampage to a point that they could Mass produce it and they got gobbled up by Nv right before it happened. If NV comments about the 512bit memory bus being overkill and they stick with their 256bit bus they are going to be really hurting come next year....which I'm more then happy to see happen
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

                        What tech? Muti-chip?
Though their VSA-100 chip was good it could not compare with NVidia's at the time? What 3DFX tech could be good enough being years old to give them another advantage?
