About G400 and w2k

Is there somebody who knows why my G400 Mill. DH 32 Mb is running only AGP 2x ??? This is happening with w2k, sp2, latest Matrox drivers ... bla, bla, bla. It supports AGP 4x - I'm sure about this. This is very interesting because I have no such problem with win 98, FreeBSD (XFree86 4.2). Any suggestion???

Download the matrox tweek utility. You can get it from their website or off the front page of www.murc.ws. This will allow you to force AGP x4.

I've tryed the latest Matrox Tweak Utility, but AGP 4x is in unselectable mode .... so I can't switch to it. 10x. Any other ideas ???

It's really not that big of deal. Mine is only running in 1x due to my motherboard. I have no problems in Win2k.

when there's no option to select AGP4x in Matrox' tweak util, I bet your card is only AGP4x compatible, but not capable of actually running at that speed ...

post your product number and we'll see.

Or maybe that XP issue appears in Win2K too... You know, the one where AGP 4x isn't selectable until you reboot into safe mode with AGP set to Default or 1x or whatever (damn, did it myself too but can't remember )

Another thing to try is to (re)install newest chipset drivers.
