Just reading a review of Abit's latest and greatest motherboard, and see it has an option in the SoftMenu in the BIOS for 'Enhance for Benchmark'. Any idea what that does?

erh!
who buys a computer for benchmark purposes?
is it just me or is the benchmark hype beginnig to affect the hardware products just a little to much?
I mean what is the purpose of benchmarking, I always thought it was a tool for finetuning a system for optimal efficiency in everyday use. how is an "enhance for benchmark" option going to help with that?
an "enhance for everyday use" option, would be far more useful.
to run benchmarks efficiently is not a goal in itself, to use a benchmark to analyse different configurations and find the best configuration, that suits your needs, IS what benchmarks are for, or am i missing somethingLast edited by TdB; 9 June 2002, 04:51.This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.
