      Thanks for the suggestions.

I will try swapping the PSU, but as I said earlier, it was ok in another PC for 3 months.

      Cheers

but cap problems would be electrical, and unaffected by the heat.
Actually it could be the caps... if they're cheap may not take a charge properly and thus pass DC effectively shorting the voltage to ground causing the system not to startup correctly. By hitting reset they could be juiced just enough from previous attemt to work the second time.

Also if it were a thermal issue it could be the caps... why there is a difference in 85c rated and 105c rated (latter are much better)

Both can be a source of serious problems when it comes to the PS.

Well, the people at www.memtest86.com can have my babies!

It was a bad stick of RAM (confirmed by also testing in another machine). Phew! That was the easiest thing to fix.

            Oh well,

I lose. Doesn't mean I would trust a Pcchips board as far as I could throw it

              Hi!

I've had almost the same problem since I bought my Abit kr7a and other parts. I think I tried everything, I even replaced my PSU with a 353W Enermax. Now I have sent the motherboard back to the seller and hopefully they will replace it.

I tried once to heat up my computer with a hair dryer and it helped but since I don't want to do that every time I want to use my computer.....

I hope it is not my crucial memory that is bad....

              Good luck with your comuter
