Can anyone recommend any good UK based hardware stores? I keep doing the round of Scan, Simply and Dabs. I'm currently interested in monitors as mine have all died recently

I have used Technomatic in the past (OK, a couple of years ago) for some memory sticks. Had no problems with them.
Now I use the bloke in the computer shop down the road - he is open late, gives me good prices (for cash....) and it makes delivery a breeze (i.e. I don't have to be at home to receive stuff during the week)
just my thoughts.

The suppliers I tend to use most nowadays are:
Ebuyer stock more than 20,000 products for the home, office, or school from leading brands. Next day delivery and 0% finance options available.
Leading the way in bespoke PC systems and PC gaming, any and all of your components & peripherals needs are met with our vast range of products and services.
Suppliers I use if the above haven't got what I want, or are too expensive:
Chris.

What's wrong with Scan Steve? I've only dealt with customer services once (to enquire about a product), and they responded within about 20minutes.

I use
http://www.overclcokers.co.uk Good.
http://www.ebuyer.com Cheap. free carriage
http://www.microdirect.co.uk Good. expensive carriage
http://www.aria.co.uk v.good. cheap carriage too
http://www.scan.co.uk Not impressed. sometimes cheap
I use mostly ebuyer cos they are extremely cheap, have a very good range and carriage is free, Microdirect because i have a trade account with them, they have a decent range (not always the stock tho) and they've always been pretty decent service wise.
I won't use scan anymore. i have had a couple of bad experiences with the wrong stuff or broken stuff. they were not easy to deal with.1st system

Ant before diving in Email all companys about there credit card refunding. If they can't be arsed to reply or to reply correctly ie answering your email correctly forget about them.
Despite the advertising and I'll quote Barclay card "If you haven't got a written confirmation that you will be refunded against your credit card there is nothing we can do"
So if the comapny is in business they can hold on too your money as long as they like. One company scan.co.uk do that. To get a refund is down to local small claims court.

Oh by the way Ant - forgot to mention Novatech - they were prompt and friendly when I dealt with them at some point last year. Also have some quite good offers on sometimes.
