I have just got a new MoBo, P4, 1.6GHz Intel D845BG and installed XP and a G550.
I run Wavelab and scroll audio waveforms across the screen. This scrolling is very slow and jerky, CPU is on 100% for a P4, 1.6GHz.
The MoBo this replaced was a Dual P3 733 ABIT VP6, Via chipset and it used it eat this task for breakfast, smooth scroll and 50% CPU at most.
Why is this new Intel board and G550 so slow and use so much CPU?
I notice running a utility that AGP Fast Write is disabled, when it is available with this hardware. Any clues?
Note: AGP Apeture is set on 256 in BIOS, USB is installed in BIOS. Driver version is 5.72.021. 512M DDR Ram, P4 1.6G, Intel D845BG mobo.
