The problem is that M$ is'nt doing it to get revenue!
Rather they are doing it to kill OpenGL!
OpenGL works on several OS and not only Windows.....
And M$ seems to hate the very idea that there is "other" OS'es than their own
It's just one way for them to throw a wrench into other OS'es developmentsIf there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

What about OpenML? Does it BASE on oGL? Does it include a graphics part, or is it just for sound, etc.? How far is it off?

I guess that means Amiga Inc can succcessfully sue the arse of M$ (or anyone else for that matter) for breach of Patent on Autoboot cd's .... Yup ... Its a Commodore .. (Amiga Inc) invention.

1. OpenML graphical part is widely based on OpenGL.
2. If M$ takes control of the OpenGL, mesa is history.
3. Wombat, I disagree with you about the Patent/Copyright thing because look for example at those Music silver disks that F**k up people's computers. Those aren't CDs, and still Philips can't do shit to stop those bastards from making them and selling them as CDs.
4. Through software, M$ will control all HW makers so no new open source solution will be supported by new hardware.
Just like new souncards/drivers won't allow you to record sound from .asf files.
5. M$ is working hard to kill all non M$ operated hardware out there. This includes everything from Mainframes to hand held computers. They'll use any legal and not so legal way to do so. Nothing has changed.

They don't have the "Compact Disk" logo on them. But they are still sold as CDs if you understand my meaning. There's a very tiny little warning on the bottom, but nothing else. It's not like Amazon, Tower records etc. puts them in a different place under a "Silver discs" label. There are in the same pages / shelves with normal CDs so an unsuspecting person would buy them the same way he'd buy a normal CD.
In a way, it's like puting poisenous red fruits resembling tomatoes in the tomato pile so people could buy it and get a nice big diarrhea. Oh yes, they'll put tiny little stickers on them saying that those aren't tomatoes.
